On May 30, 2018, Carmella Lucy Beazley of Edmonton, AB (formerly of Peterborough, Ontario) passed away at the age of 91 years. Born in Toronto, Ontario on August 8, 1926 she was the youngest of twelve children of parents Joseph and Artenzia Pasquale.

Carmella married Samuel Beazley on June 8, 1952 and together had two sons, Frederick Joseph in 1955, and James Arthur in 1963. Another important member of the household was Carmella’s mother who lived with the family and helped raise the boys until her passing in 1974. The couple moved the family to Peterborough, Ontario in 1968 to a new house on banks of the Otonabee River. Carmella found work at the Domtar Corrugated Cardboard factory (where she worked for 23 years) and Samuel owned and operated a home renovation business. The couple enjoyed 5-Pin Bowling and participated in a number of bowling leagues in the Peterborough area. After eight years of living in town, they moved to “the farm” in 1976; an acreage just outside the city limits where they enjoyed a large garden, fruit trees and raspberry bushes.

Soon after Samuel passing in 1986, Carmella moved back into town purchasing a house on Lee Street where she made new friends that would become a very important part of her life and support network. Upon her retirement in 1991 Carmella joined the Royal Canadian Legion where she volunteered her time by working in the kitchen cooking meals and serving at various legion functions. During this time Carmella developed a passion for Darts and participated in a number of tournaments.

In 2015 Carmella sold her Lee Street home and moved into an apartment for two years, after which she moved into the Peterborough Manor Retirement Residence. The family moved Carmella to Canterbury Court Retirement Residence in Edmonton, AB in 2017 so she could be closer to her children and grandchildren in her final years.

Carmella was predeceased by her parents and her eleven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons Fred (Dalene) and Jim (Kathy); her two grandsons Nolan and Elliott; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Sherwood Park, AB.  Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will take place in Ontario on a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
