ALVINA SCHAFFLER

Date: June 30th, 2018

Alvina Ruth Schaffler of Camrose, AB passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2018 at the age of 74 years.

Alvina was born in Camrose on July 2, 1943. She lived in Hay Lakes, and Loydminster where she attended elementary and Junior High school, and Provost where she completed her High School education. After graduating she moved to Edmonton where she worked for several years at the Alberta Blue Cross. She later moved back to Provost and married Dale Schaffler. She worked at the Provost Medical Centre until the arrival of their first child, Patrick. Shortly after that the family moved to Manning and their second child, Allison, arrived less than two years later, completing their family. After raising their children in Manning and seeing them graduate, Alvina and Dale decided they wanted to take life a little easier and left their plumbing business up north and moved to Camrose.

Alvina had a very busy life that revolved around her children, her grandchildren, her church, and her many friends. When she wasn't spending time with family and friends, she was volunteering. An exceedingly special time in her life was very recently when she became a great grandma in March.

Alvina will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her son Patrick Schaffler, and granddaughter Bailey, and great-grandson Ryder; daughter Allison (David Hefford) Blake, and grandchildren Keely, Austin and Shyah; sisters Doreen Christensen and Eileen (John) Walters; brother Irvin (Marlene) Paul; all her nieces and nephews and her many friends.

Alvina was predeceased by her parents Emanuel and Mary Paul; her son-in-law Val Blake; brothers-in-law Bob Walters and Al Christensen; and nephew Tim Walters.

A celebration of Alvina's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Camrose, AB with Rev. Dr. Deborah Taylor officiating. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation; or to the charity of one's choice.
