NATALIE HNYBIDA

Date: February 25th, 2012

Natalie passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the age of 83 years.  She was born the second child of Frank and Maggie (Komarnisky) Pasnak of Holden.  She had two sisters Olga (also known as Pat) and Nadine.  Her mother passed away at an early age leaving the girls to share the workload of helping their dad on the farm.  Natalie usually worked along side of her dad in the field and helped with chores.  She attended the Vermilion Valley School a mile and a half north of the farm.  Natalie met Nick before he went to the Armed Forces.  They wrote to each other and Nick proposed by letter.  On June 2, 1945 they were married in Mundare when Nick was on leave.  They lived in Holden where they started their family.  When Nick received his discharge he trucked for a while and they then moved to the family farm.  They farmed enjoying the good times and weathering the bad.

Natalie is survived by her loving children Allen, June Bignell, Dale (Lorna) and Pat (Randy) MacDonald; 8 grandchildren Kim (Troy) Waddell, Sandy (Dean) Hemsley, Melvin Bignell, Cherie (Brian) Chalifoux, Shane (Jessica) Hnybida, Nicole (Brandon) Donnelly, Christopher and Trevor MacDonald; 13 great-grandchildren; close to our family’s heart Patti Witty and Jack Ducharme.  She was predeceased by her husband Nick and her parents Frank and Maggie.

A Divine Liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2012 at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church South of Holden. Cremation will take place following the Divine Liturgy. Memorial donations may be made to the Charity of one’s choice.
