Roy Melvin Jarrett was born in Alsask Saskatchewan August 13, 1931 to George and Grace Jarrett. He was the oldest of two children. He grew up in Mantario on the Alberta-Saskatchewan border and eventually moved to Calgary in his early adulthood. He married the love of his life Bertha (Regier) in 1963 and they were married for 54 years. Roy sold his excavating business in 1980 and he and his family moved to the Daysland area in 1981 where he had a mixed grain and cow-calf farm operation. He retired (finally) in 2007 and he and Bertha moved into Camrose in 2010 where he remained until his peaceful passing January 12, 2018.

Roy is survived by his loving wife Bertha; children Dale (Ed) Stamler, Tannis (Len) Vander Ploeg, Ron Jarrett, Rick (Nadine) Jarrett, Dean (Beth) Jarrett, Rochelle (Richard) Leslie; seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family, and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents George and Grace; and his brother Morris.

He will be deeply missed for his commitment to family, friends and community, his work ethic, his incredible faith and his fun-loving personality.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at City Lights Church in Camrose, Alberta with Pastor Brian Krushel officiating. Interment will take place at the Camrose Valleyview Cemetery.
