   Garry Joseph Bendfeld of Heisler, AB passed away on February 20, 2018 at the age of 73 years.


     Garry Joseph Bendfeld was born July 8, 1944, the eldest of eight children to Leander and Orena Bendfeld. Garry passed away February 20, 2018 at the age of 73 years in the Daysland Hospital after a battle with cancer.


     Garry will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife and farming companion of 47 years, Sharon; Children Brent (Denise) of Heisler, Brian (Carrie) of Heisler and Shauna (Brad) Larson of Sherwood Park and his eight grandchildren Rebecca, Dylan, Braden, Camron, Tyler, Emma, Carter and Kayden. He also leaves to mourn two sisters, Kathleen (Bill) Ponto, Elaine (Bernie) Kasha; three brothers Gerald (Debbie), Dough (Carrie) Don  (Shannon); mother-in-law Lorraine Zimmel; three brothers-in-law Rodney (Sherry) Zimmel, Jerome (Cheryl) Zimmel, Grant (Denise) Zimmel; two sisters-in-law Dianne (Joe) Kelendorfer and Laurie Bendfeld, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his infant daughter Jacqueline; his parents Leander and Orena; sister Connie; brother Reg and father-in-law Norman Zimmel.


    A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at St. Martin's Roman Catholic Church in Heisler, AB.


   Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 1, 2018 at St. Martin's Roman Catholic Church in Heisler, AB. Cremation will follow the service and inurnment will take place on a later date at the Heisler Cemetery. 


   Memorial donations may be made to the Heisler Cemetery Fund or to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
