OFFICE ASSISTANT POSITION AVAILABLE

     Weber Funeral Home is seeking an office assistant to fill a full time position (part time positions will also be considered) involving a wide range of skill sets in a professional setting. Duties would include answering phones, greeting clients, assisting in completion of funeral service details, filing and documentation,  light housekeeping, and maintaining accounts.

 

Qualifications:

-Grade 12 Diploma.  Secretarial and reception experience a bonus.

-Good interpersonal communication skills: verbal and written.

-Strong spelling and grammar skills.

-Well organized with book keeping and accounts management.

-Strong knowledge of basic computer tasks.

-Trustworthiness, dependability and confidentiality.

-Empathetic, calm and confident demeanor to communicate with individuals in various states of emotion.

OFFICE MANAGEMENT

-answer incoming phone calls from Camrose and Tofield

-receive information and messages, record and relay as needed

-manage and update telephone systems

-receive people coming in the front door

-assisting in completion of funeral service details and paperwork

-receiving and receipting payments for services

 

CLERICAL

-receiving, paying and filing of invoices

-preparing and delivering bank deposits

-preparing and sending invoices

-maintaining and filing records

-spellchecking and proof reading

-preparing, sending and documenting obituaries

-preparing and procuring government documents

 

COMPUTER SKILLS AND PROFESSIONAL TASKS

-compiling, preparing and printing of funeral bulletins with color photos

-assisting with monument sales

-scanning and emailing documents

-Helping with people who have questions regarding upcoming funeral services, CPP benefit forms, memorial donations, death certificates, etc.

 

HOUSEKEEPING

-vacuuming carpets

-dusting of furniture and displays as needed

-watering plants

-keeping public washroom facilities clean

-clean tables and floors in the reception rooms after use

-restock fridges and coffee supplies as needed

-and various other housekeeping duties.
