Leonard Melford Korth was born at home on the farm in the Hardisty area on November 19, 1919 to Gus & Lucy Korth. He married Muriel Alderdice on November 8, 1951 and had three daughters – Ann, Irene and Patricia. Leonard and Muriel lived in the Battle Bend area south of Hardisty until moving to Sedgewick in 1965. They remained in Sedgewick until 2000 when they moved to Camrose. Leonard passed away peacefully with family by his side in Camrose, AB on July 15, 2019 at the age of 99 years.
He is survived by daughters Ann (Eugene) Bilyk of Camrose, Irene (Gord) Freeman of Fort Saskatchewan, and Trish (Murray) Delisle of Fort Saskatchewan; six grandchildren, Dennis (Jen) Bilyk of Edmonton, Myra (Colby) Marshall of New Norway, Scott (Brandy) Freeman of Grande Prairie, Kelcey (Jamie Robertson) Freeman of Edmonton, Paige Delisle of Sherwood Park, and Layne Delisle of Fort Saskatchewan; five great grandchildren, Samantha, Erika, Lyric, Gabriel and Georgia; three sisters-in-law, Marge Korth of Hardisty, Mary Russell of Sedgewick, and Phyllis Alderdice of Daysland, one brother-in-law, Allan (Ann) Alderdice of Calgary as well as a host of family and friends.
Leonard was predeceased by Muriel, his wife of 67 years, his parents, his sisters Loraleigh Collins and Florence Van Koughnett, his brothers Roy and Ken; as well as granddaughters Shauna and Alysha.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30, Friday, July 19, 2019 at St. Andrews Anglican Church in Camrose. Inurnment for both Murial and Leonard will follow at the Camrose Valleyview Cemetery.
