Lonnie Dean Kozdrowski of Camrose was born in St. Paul, AB on September 15, 1972, to Walter and Elizabeth Kozdrowski. He passed away one January 26, 2020 at the age of 47 years.
Lonnie is survived by his mother Elizabeth and his brother Lyle (Laurel). He was predeceased by his father Walter (2019).
He lived with his parents his whole life, moving from St. Paul to Innisfail, Manning and Lac La Biche. Lonnie liked fishing and the outdoors as there were many lakes in the area.
When they moved to Edson, Lonnie had to travel by school bus to the small town of Peers in order to attend the special education classes. Then they moved to Ponoka where Lonnie had the daily challenge of crossing the highway in order to get to school.
Lonnie’s schooling ended a few years after they moved to Camrose. It was here that he joined some of the special groups Camrose had to offer. They included Centra Cam, The Rose Club, along with more programs and activities and events through Camrose Association for Community Living (CAFCL). Through these organizations Lonnie was able to participate in many different activities and adventures as well as travel to different places. A small example of these were hockey games, football games, Reynolds Museum, Ponoka Stampede, Camp He-Ho-Ha every year but due to health issues could not attend in 2019.
A highlight for Lonnie was meeting one of his favorite stars, Amber Marshall of Heartland, the television series and having his picture taken with her.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Weber's Mount Pleasant Chapel in Camrose, AB with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the Camrose Association for Community Living.
