Effie Paulson

Date: January 12th, 2021

Effie Paulson was born at home in Rocanville, Sask. on February 27th, 1921 to Grace and Archie Gray. She passed into the presence of Jesus on January 12, 2021 in Calgary, just a few weeks shy of her 100th birthday.
Effie will be fondly remembered by her children, Lois (Vern) Bowen, Jon (Trudy) Warkentin, Joanne (Jim) Halterman; grandchildren Shawn, Kyla (Ryan), Leah (Chris), Drew (Bethany), Meggan (Greg), Debbie and Michelle; as well as eight great grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her son-in-law Gord (Wendy) Bakke; sister Myrtle Niles; and sisters-in-law Lorraine Warkentin, Beth Warkentin and Delia Gray; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husbands William Warkentin (1959) and Leonard Paulson (1976); and daughters Dorothy (1977) and Darlene (1985); as well as her parents; brothers Bob (Elsie) Gray and Don Gray; sisters Sheila Gray, Ruth (George) Warnock; and numerous extended family members.
Effie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She liked to garden, cook, sew, quilt, play scrabble and Around the World dominoes, and to experiment with oil paintings. She will be remembered for her involvement in church activities, her quick wit, singing hymns, playing the harmonica, and enjoying family and community events. Effie deeply loved Jesus, loved attending church and her strong Christian faith carried her through many trying circumstances. Throughout her life she prayed faithfully for her family and friends, a true prayer warrior.
When Effie required additional care, circumstances at the time caused her to be moved from the Tofield area. She often spoke about missing her church, the community and her special friends from Tofield.
The family extends their appreciation and gratitude to the compassionate and caring staff members at Age Care Midnapore, Age Care Seton, Royal Oak Lacombe, and the Tofield Lodge.

Due to Covid19 restrictions a private family funeral service will be held. Interment will take place at the Tofield Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
