Ronald Edward Strandquist
Ronald Edward Strandquist of Camrose, Alberta was born in Galahad on February 22, 1967. He passed away in Camrose on September 4, 2016 at the age of 49 years.
He is survived by his parents Jeff and Helen; brother David (Adrienne); 1 nephew and 2 nieces; numerous family and friends.
Ron attended school in Castor. As a student he worked at Big Knife park planting trees, clearing trails and building bridges.
Ron held jobs at Forestburg, Drumheller and Hanna where he drove a heavy hauler at Sheerness Mine.
When he was a young lad on a fishing trip with his Dad and his brother, along with Uncle Herb. Ron got bored and perhaps a bit sleepy so he laid back with the hook skipping on the water until a huge jackfish grabbed it and nearly pulled the rod overboard!! It was the biggest fish caught on this trip.
Ron was a keen dirt bike rider and owned a couple. In later years he loved to watch auto racing.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016 at City Lights Church in Camrose with Pastor Clayton Milgate officiating. Cremation has taken place.
