Roger Foss Obituary

Roger Marvin Foss was born on November 6, 1944 in Camrose, Alberta to Arthur and Clara Foss. He was the third son in a family of five children including sister Arlene, and brothers Clair, Arthur and Dale.

He was raised in the Round Hill area and later moved on to Edmonton where he attended NAIT. He went on to have a long career that he loved, and where he met many people who became lifelong friends.

He met Marilyn Reid in 1962 and they married and welcomed Robby in 1967 and Kelly in 1971. Roger was an amazing father  and always gave his children unconditional love, no matter the circumstances. He had four grandchildren, Chelsey, Melissa, Fox and AJ, and he was immensely proud of them all. Roger was predeceased by his long-time companion, Myrna Cairns, while still maintaining a close relationship with her son, Ryan. In 2013, Roger married Andrea Rogers and they spent their time in Alberta and Arizona.

Roger had many passions including travelling, gardening, flying and he also loved going on road trips. He made many great memories with friends and family on his trips, whether by plane, car or motorcycle. Over the years he owned multiple vehicles and enjoyed working on them and restoring them to immaculate condition.

People who knew Roger knew him to be loyal, funny, kind and the type of person who would do anything for someone he cared about. He faced his diagnosis with strength, positivity and a sense of humour and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter Kelly (Sheldon) Frigon; grandchildren Fox (Darcey Hodder), AJ, Chelsey Foss (Shaun Jakubec) and Melissa (Danton) Bennefield, brother Art Foss, Ryan Cairns, Andrea Rogers, Marilyn Stevenson and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by son Robby; brothers Clair and Dale; sister Arlene Moen; parents Art and Clara.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Weber's Mount Pleasant Chapel with Rev. Helen Reed officiating.
