It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Efthalia Kavgadoulis of Camrose, Alberta. She was born in Patra, Greece on April 27th, 1934. Efthalia passed away peacefully on May 27th, 2022 at the age of 88 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Stavros (Corinna), and Evangelos; four precious grandchildren: Kimon, Anastasia, Declan (Katelynn), and Keenan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends throughout both Canada and Greece.
Efthalia was predeceased by her cherished daughter Maria; her parents Alexandra and Yannis Mixou; as well as her three brothers: Nicko, Thanatis, and Yanis; and sister Maria.
She will forever be remembered for her strength, her kindness, and for the fierce love and compassion that she had for her children and for all of the "extras" who lovingly referred to her as "Mama". Her home was always welcoming to family and friends with love and she always had a smile on her face.
Her face always lit up when she spoke of her grandchildren, and she was proud of each and every one of them, and enjoyed the short or long visits in person or by FaceTime!
Efthalia took great pride in raising her children and was an amazing homemaker. She loved watching her children eat her delicious meals, knowing that each bite was filled with her love.
We will all miss her infectious smile, her loving eyes, her warm embraces, her passion for life and especially the love for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday June 8, 2022 at Weber's Mount Pleasant Chapel with Father Andreas (St. George's Greek Orthodox Church, Edmonton). Interment will follow at Camrose Valleyview Cemetery.
