The Friends of Deville St. Margaret's Society has lost a long time member with the passing of Mildred. Her contributions to the community were many and she was well known for her love of local history. Most notably, her involvement helped St. Margaret's Church be recognized for its historic value. We send our sympathy to her family and friends.
Marja Allen,
President of the Friends of Deville St. Margaret's Society

I have a lifetime of happy memories of Mildred. The earliest was when I was in grade 1 and riding the school bus to Ministik school. It was a treat to be allowed to get off the bus at Stefiszyn’s for a visit and to play with the girls when they were babies. Over all the many years as neighbors at Deville Mildred was a good friend to our family. Her work for the community was tireless. I remember the many hours she and Mum (Ellen Dunn) and others put in on the “Land Among the Lakes” history book. Everything she did was done with energy and a big smile.
Our sincere condolences to Lorne and to Debbie, Brenda, Patti, Lynda, Terry, Susan, Peggy and Linda and all your families.

I am so saddened to hear of Mildred's passing. My family became lifelong friends when Lynda and I became friends in elementary school and what followed were years and years of time together.
When my folks moved from Ardrossan to Sherwood Park and I would go to see them, I very often stopped at the farm for a visit, and was always greeted with a smile and a "Well, come on in!" My visits with "Aunty Grandma Mildred" always ended with a hug, and I carried on home happy and glad to have shared some time.
While my heart hurts for all who are left behind, it is also happy at imagining the joyful homegoing and family reunion that Mildred has experienced. I know there has to be a big big party happening as family and friends welcome her home.
I am sending you all hugs from my heart to yours, and want you to know I, and my mom, are beside you in sorrow, but also in many happy memories our families made together.
Much love,
Maurina and Doreen

I just remember how much she loved her family. Every year end show for GDFS, Mildred was there. I watched her reaction to watching her great grand daughter Jorja tap dancing to "Fly me to the Moon" Mildred was wiping away tears of joy and was very proud of her. To see her reaction, brought a few tears to my eyes as well. I loved Mildred's smile, she was just full of joy and it was contagious to those around her. Condolences to Twyla, Jesse, Cody, Monty, Nash and Jorja, also to Patti and Darrel Wood, Blaine Wood and Emily, Mitch, Gavin and Hudson O'Brien and all the other family members who have had her dear to their hearts. May she rest in peace and her smile look down over you. Love from Cordell and Dawn
